Former EMPEROR Drummer Speaks Out On DISSECTION Collaboration
September 8, 2002Ex-EMPEROR drummer Bård "Faust" Eithun recently commented on the prospect of uniting with another former convict, DISSECTION mainman Jon Nödtveit, for the first DISSECTION album since Storm of the Light's Bane, which is tentatively due to be recorded next year for a 2004 release. In an interview published at the Walls Of Fire web site, Eithun stated that "I knew [Nödtveit] from the beginning of the 90's and he contacted me after his arrest and we have stayed in touch these years. He simply asked me if I would like to join the band and there was no doubt it in my mind, of course. I have a good vibe concerning it and I am sure that we will make it work out well, in spite of geographical distances, his continuing imprisonment, etc. DISSECTION is too strong a band to just vanish like that."
Eithun, who is awaiting release in December after spending nine years and four months in prison for murdering a homosexual man, is "eager" to start working on a variety of musical projects, including a previously-announced group with Zamoth (ZYKLON, ex-EMPEROR) and Lars-Stian of SOURCE OF TIDE.
